So you think you’re funny? Put your mouth where the microphone is, enter the Comedy Showdown
and end the search to find South Africa’s hottest new comedian!
In order to try level the playing fields, entry to the Showdown is open only to comedians
who have not performed a one-man show in a professional theatre venue, or at either the Cape
Town International or the Jozi Comedy Festival.
The preliminary heats will be held at Zula in Long Street on August 18, September 1 & 8.
The finalists from each heat will compete for the biggest laughs at final Comedy Showdown on
Sept 15 – also at Zula.
The winner gets to strut their stuff alongside some of the world’s finest stand-up
comedians at the Best of the Fest during the Festival’s finale on Sunday, Sept 21.
